WHO WE ARE
We are Julie and Al Mitchell. We live in historic Yorktown, VA, where we raise Cockatiels and Green Cheek Conures. We have had birds for more than 13 years and continuously work to improve our program. Our philosophy is simple: to breed large, pretty birds with sweet dispositions. We breed our birds year round, so differing mutations will be available throughout the year.
We specialize in some of the rare mutations with emphasis on Dominant Yellow Cheek. We are also breeding on a regular basis White Face and Pearl varieties. Our prices range from $65 to $400. The price range is dependent upon the individual bird, its mutation and bloodline. Our White Face birds are in high demand and unfortunately, there is a very long waiting list.
If our program sounds interesting to you, please feel free to contact us at: firstname.lastname@example.org. We welcome all inquiries. Our program includes showing of these fine birds and in the process, have increased the quality of the birds that we are producing. You do not have to be an exhibitor to purchase or appreciate our birds, just be prepared to give a loving and caring home.
We are proud to have our birds featured in the French book “La Calopsitte” by Jacqueline and Gabriel Prin. Julie has also been a recent contributor to a cockatiel vocalization article in a special issue of BIRD TALK magazine’s feature presentation on ‘COCKATIELS’. In addition, Julie writes articles and contributes to several publications for organizations of which she is a member.
In addition, we are members of the American Cockatiel Society, the Peninsula Caged Bird Society, the Society of Parrot Breeders and Exhibitors and the National Cockatiel Society. Julie also judges for the American Cockatiel Association and the Society of Parrot Breeders and Exhibitors.
